Reusability

Post by Rhyshaelkan » Fri Jan 01, 2016 1:18 am

With Falcon 9 launch 20 SpaceX has finally landed a first stage.

SpaceX is leading the charge in lowering launch costs.

I read somewhere, a Merlin 1D engine costs $1000000. No matter if it is more expensive, but if you can recover all 9 rocket engines from the first stage. This leads to an instant savings of $9m per launch.
I am not a professional. I am a rational amateur who dreams about humans going into space.
