Moon Caves and lava tubes

Post by smccann » Tue Jun 16, 2015 7:49 pm

i09/Gizmodo is featuring a space habitats week with stories about living in space. A lot of the ideas and history featured are already very familiar to the PERMANENT bunch.

This story, though, about Red Whittaker concerns a near-term (less than a year from now) project to explore a lunar pit with a rover. They hope to find caves suitable for human habitation.

Even better would be to find such locations very close to the more profitable lunar resources.

Some great artwork there.
Take my love, take my land, take me where I cannot stand..... I don't care, I'm still free, you can't take the sky from me.
Take me out, to the black, tell em I ain't coming back..... Burn the land and boil the sea, you can't take the sky from me.
