§ 4.7.3 Welding in Vacuum

The best means for welding in vacuum are electron beam, spot welding, and lasers.

There was an entire conference devoted to this topic in September, 1991, sponsored by the American Welding Society, the proceedings of which are in a document titled "Welding in Space and the Construction of Space Vehicles by Welding", edited by V.F. Shulym et al.
